When I am creating eco-dyed scarves I get a wonderful bi-product with the wool resist I use. The tannins of the plants also leave their print on the wool. The results can be stunning. This unique size wall hanging came about because I had a skinny place next to a door that really could use a pop of color, and it worked! Becoming quite the conversation piece! The wool is stretched on a hand made frame and the back is finished with a single piece of wool that is hand sewn on. This piece can be hung either way.
I used seeded eucalyptus, oak leaves, with a few other varieties tucked in with and iorn mordant and the results have definition, color and texture.
